Job Title: Materials Controller

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday days
Working with a global business at one of their many UK site locations.
The Materials Controller is the primary interface between the depot team, Internal (SCM) / External Suppliers and the Customer. The Materials Controller supports the team in delivering our material supply obligations at a depot level, dealing directly with the Customer, Coordinators, and Materials Handlers to resolve issues as they arise in order to improve the effectiveness of the GTR Project Material Supply requirements and Customer Satisfaction by:
1. Maximising material availability and minimising Liquidated Damages exposure.
2. Identifying materials where information is limited.
3. Maintaining a positive attitude and flexibility to achieve company/customers goals and priorities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
General and Administrative:
1. Maintain a professional demeanour that reflects commitment to quality, continuous improvement, diversity, and respect for individuals.
2. Comply with all quality and safety requirements.
3. Follow systems and procedures outlined by company/project manuals.
4. Ensure Company policies & procedures are followed.
Operations Management:
1. Manage the day-to-day order book, dealing with PO queries, RFQs, etc.
2. Work with the Engineering team to decide liability for defects and repair costs.
3. Mitigate UMD Liquidated Damages (penalties for nil stock items and unsatisfied demand).
4. Conduct regular Material classification reviews.
5. Order and reorder materials (Product & NPR) in line with specified processes.
6. Receive and sell out inventory in line with specified processes.
7. Issue stock in accordance with specified processes.
8. Process rotables (repairable items).
9. Ensure materials are processed and controlled according to relevant Quality and Environmental Standards, including Quarantine, Processing rejections/nonconformity, and Shelf life.
10. Monitor stock movement & behaviour and maintain inventory levels to ensure stock demands are successfully met.
11. Expedite internal & external suppliers.
12. Conduct regular Perpetual stock audits and investigate & resolve stock discrepancies.
13. Manage all SAP Processes for materials.
14. Provide daily information/feedback to Materials Manager, Engineering & Production teams.
15. Own Materials Management tools.
16. Cover for Materials Manager when required.
17. Provide relevant information/reports in a timely manner for the Project Governance process.
Financial Control:
1. Support all necessary actions to manage cost and improve profitability.
2. Identify Risk and Opportunity.
3. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the physical location.
4. Ensure the office is left in a suitable condition for other staff.
