The Heron Medical Practice is seeking a Junior Medical Secretary to join our team on a part-time basis. The hours are Monday to Friday, 14:30 - 17:30, totaling 15 hours per week.
We are looking for a confident, highly experienced team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive attitude, and commitment to work, to join the Heron Medical Practice.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 9th January 2025 in the morning.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary. There may be an occasional requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
1. Follow GDPR guidance and practice policy
2. Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
3. Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms (copy medical records)
4. Read code data on EMISWEB
5. Ensure ERS worklists are up to date including Advice and Guidance responses and rejected referrals
6. Carry out system searches for rapid access referrals and ensure patients are seen in a timely manner
7. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
8. Attend training where applicable and ensure all mandatory training is kept up to date.
