Job Summary CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: WEDNESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY, 2025 An exciting opportunity for an Advanced Calibration Apprentice has become available at our world-class aerospace manufacturing facility in East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. Working with a wide range of measurement equipment and processes, our four-year programme will provide you with all the development and training that you need to get your career in aerospace manufacturing off to a flying start With a mixture of both classroom and on-the-job training, you will be involved in using, designing and repairing equipment for taking measurements, in order to keep our operational areas compliant to both customer and regulatory requirements. You will be working in conjunction with the Level 3 Metrology Technician Apprenticeship Standard. On completion of your apprenticeship, you are likely to move into the following career discipline: Calibration Engineer (Mechanical) - To support the company's business by the calibration and maintenance of Cowes site mechanical test equipment within scheduled timescales and quality standards. Job Responsibilities - To observe the company's terms and conditions of employment. - In both work and training, to be diligent and punctual and attend courses, keep records and undertake any tests determined by the company in order to measure and achieve the training objectives and quality gates. - To behave in a responsible manner and in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation relating to the individual's responsibilities. - To be a good ambassador of the Company's name and image. - To successfully complete all activities documented in the Apprenticeship Training Agreement. Job Qualifications Suitable candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, and have at least Five GCSE's, or equivalent, as follows: - Maths: Grade 9 - 5 - English: Grade 9 - 4 - Science: Grade 9 - 4 - Plus Two more Grade: 9 - 4 PLEASE ALSO NOTE the position requires UK National Security Vetting (UKNSV) Security clearance (SC) due to the nature and responsibilities of the work carried out.
