Salary: 85,000 - 90,000 + Package (5000 Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus)
The Company:
Established over 90+ years ago, our client is recognised as a market leading contractor throughout the UK and Europe. They are specialists in delivering commercial and data center projects, whilst they also operate in the public, health, education and pharmaceutical sectors. Their experience ranges from small work contracts circa 500k to major projects in excess of 100m.
Due to continuous growth, our client has recently secured a number of key projects. Their 2024 turnover is expected to be in excess of 500M with 300M already secured for 2025. As a result, they are actively looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with an M&E background.
The Role:
You will be responsible for running a major scheme in Oxford with a value of 30m+. You will be fully responsible for the commercial and surveying functions on your projects from Tender Handover to Final Account stage. Key to this role is managing and developing more junior surveyors. You will have a team supporting you on all projects, which is a great part of the business to assist in all aspects. They have detailed processes in place, contract support with lawyers, and the chance to work towards a commercial management role.
Role/Responsibilities:
1. Take a lead role in the procurement process and ensure all Sub Contracts are placed correctly with the appropriate Main Contract Terms included.
2. Oversee and manage the production of the variation account and the agreement process with the Client, and be responsible for compiling monthly project cost reports and presenting this to the Company Directors.
3. Build relationships with your project team and their clients. You will need to be a good communicator, self-motivated, and comfortable with multi-tasking and working to deadlines.
4. Experience with the production of cost plans and full M&E Tenders for projects would be a benefit.
5. Manage other Surveyors of varying levels and provide support and training to develop their abilities and understanding.
The ideal candidate:
1. Will have experience of running and managing M&E projects.
2. Professionally qualified surveyor or hold technical M or E qualifications, demonstrating appropriate surveying experience in a similar role.
