Timbermark is a fast-growing SME that sells and services industrial inkjet printers. Our customers are industrial manufacturing companies across the UK and Europe, which we service from our base in Oxfordshire and subsidiary in Belgium. To support our rapid sales growth, Timbermark is looking to hire a motivated and experienced Engineer, who can work on the installation of projects and their ongoing maintenance. Job Specification: Job Title: Installation and Service Engineer Reporting to: Managing Director Hours of work: Mon-Fri 8:30 – 5pm or equivalent Salary Range: £45,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience, plus fully expensed company vehicle. Main responsibilities: · Project planning & management. · Installations on customer production lines, involving mechanical, electrical, inkjet and data elements. · Service and maintenance work, customer telephone support. · Service and repair work both in workshop and on site. · Accurate record-keeping and report writing for customer information and billing purposes. Person specification: Qualifications: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English. Experience: At least five years’ experience in installing mechanical and electronics engineering projects. Skills: Ability to fit mechanical assemblies to production lines with metalworking skills; Ability to fit cables and electrical components to industrial standards; Have a good working knowledge of PCs, PLC controls, and sensor technologies; Plan and manage projects effectively, ensuring they keep within budget and to schedule; Communicate effectively in writing, and be comfortable dealing with customers at all levels. Personal Qualities: Be able to work well as part of a small team as well as on own initiative; Flexible about travel and staying away for longer jobs (with notice) Willingness to undertake training and expand skills; Excited about the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the company’s growth. Candidates should be prepared to travel to site within the UK. The business also operates in Europe, so some overseas work is possible. A clean driving licence is essential. Following the initial training period, the role can be either office based or hybrid working and will involve frequent travel to customer sites for installation and service work. Occasional overnight stays will also be expected. The Engineer will be representing Timbermark when out on site, so must be courteous and presentable and be able to communicate effectively. They will need to work well with customers’ technical staff at all levels both with and without supervision.
