Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Payroll Assistant at J Sweeney Accountants in Pitsford. The Payroll Assistant will be responsible for payroll services, administration, management, taxes, and accounting tasks on a day-to-day basis.
What we are looking for
* Part-time (20 hours per week, 4/5 days per week) must be on site
* Payroll experience including running of multiple weekly and monthly payrolls
* Liaising with clients
* Working towards multiple deadlines
* Experience with pensions, including auto-enrolment and/or contractual enrolment
* Sound knowledge of payroll/pensions administration including the setup of new schemes, computerised payroll systems, manual calculations, directors’ NI, statutory payments, pensions, and year-end procedures
* Experience dealing with HMRC on payroll tax queries
* Previous use of payroll software
* Knowledge of BrightPay online payroll software or competence to learn
Key responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaried and hourly payrolls, including employment changes and benefits
* Manage payroll data provision to external pension providers
* Resolve payroll disputes and queries, maintaining compliance with GDPR for sensitive data
* Oversee pension auto-enrolment processes & complete declaration of compliance
