Here at Long-Term Teachers, we’re working on behalf of a fantastic special school that are seeking an ASD teaching assistant to join their team as soon as possible! They look after students with a range of needs but all students have some form of ASD.
The school provides a therapeutic educational approach with fantastic facilities in place to allow the students to fully flourish. They’re incredibly proud of the work they do and have a very close knit staff team to back this up!
About the role:
The role of a teaching assistant involves a wide range of responsibilities:
* Providing general classroom support
* Providing 1:1 support
* Supporting students outside of the classroom
* Supporting the class teacher
For this particular vacancy, you will be very much an ‘all rounder’, where you will provide support across the school, wherever there are gaps. So, it’s an exciting opportunity to gain a range of experience.
The school requires people who have previously worked with people with additional needs, preferably within a school environment. Being proactive, confident, positive, patient and adaptable are all important traits to be successful in this role.
