If so, we have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced, skilled, dynamic and compassionate leader to join our team on KGV ward, which incorporates a 24 bedded ward and an Ambulatory Assessment Unit, as a Band 6 Registered Nurse.
You will need to be able to provide decisive and effective clinical input whilst demonstrating excellent leadership qualities, effective communication skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently. You will regularly be supporting and educating a junior nursing team and sharing your knowledge and skills.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
You will also be expected to run our Ambulatory Assessment Area and require skills to manage a high turnover of patients within the unit and support patient flow of emergency admissions into the surgical department, following the emergency surgical pathway. You will also be involved in supporting new staff with the management of miscarriages and to develop their skills and knowledge and provide care for patients undergoing medical terminations. Experience of managing a team of staff and supporting staff development and training is desirable.
You will be supported by the ward sisters and Surgical Clinical Matron who will have overall responsibility for ensuring that patient care, safety and experience is at the highest standard.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays
