Job summary An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a Band 3 Triage Practitioner. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring immediate care to the relevant patient group and will work within the pre-operative assessment and admission service. We are a busy department assessing all patients undergoing surgery, many with multiple co-morbidities. You will work closely with a wide MDT, including other hospitals and GP services to ensure a smooth, safe and positive journey for all our patients. Main duties of the job The Post Holder is responsible to deliver competent, safe and systematic care to patients that are referred to Pre-Op Assessment clinic. The post holder will be able to perform a variety of duties including swabbing, deliver basic care needs, phlebotomy, perform ECG, assist with general anaesthetic day case triage and be able to follow protocols and Standard operating procedures to ensure a seamless patient journey. To participate in the holistic pre-operative assessment of patients, to recognize and organize individual patient care needs and to be able to manage own workload and prioritize care. Make appropriate observations of physical, emotional and psychological state of an individual and report any abnormalities to the relevant practitioner.
