Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses who have the skills required for the role of a junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the in-patient Respiratory team. You will work with the Senior Sister and Matron to provide strong clinical leadership to the ward facilitating the delivery of high quality, patient centred care.
Brearley 3 is a 28 bedded acute respiratory ward. In addition to the 28 in-patient beds, the Ambulatory Care Room is situated on Brearley 3 which provides both inpatient and outpatient care for Pleural and Hepatology patients. The successful applicant would be involved in the routine management of this unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to support the complex Respiratory needs of the patients within the speciality and complete ward-based training and education through mentoring students, supporting TNAs and Integrated therapists. They must be committed to evidenced based care and remain up to date with national recommendations whilst adhering to clinical governance. They will also be expected to partake in local and national audits. The Sister/Charge Nurse role includes the provision of nursing care and clinical skills to a diverse range of patients whilst supporting colleagues and carers on the ward.

* Registered General Nurse
* Possess or working towards a degree
* Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
* Extensive post registration experience at Band 5
* Relevant experience of caring for people with Respiratory disorders
* Evidence of delivering education and training to patients and staff
* Evidence of working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
* Evidence of leadership and management in a healthcare setting
* Evidence of applying research and audit in practice
* Evidence of successfully managing & evaluating change
* Evidence of effective resource management
* Experience of looking after level 2 patients
