As a Software Industrial Placement student, you will provide input to the design, implementation and testing of embedded and application software projects in a real world engineering environment. At L3Harris, in our Intelligence & Cyber International (ICI) division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies to shape and build cutting-edge solutions that combat the ever-evolving threats faced by the public and private sectors on a daily basis. What you'll be doing If you're invited to join our team of dedicated experts, the responsibilities of your role may include the following: - Design, development and implementation of software, primarily in C++ but also other languages such as C and Python for embedded systems, control and real-time applications. - Documentation of design specifications and implementation details, with guidance. - Obtaining an appreciation of the system as a whole in order to provide the most effective and appropriate software solution. - Working as part of a team (including Systems, Hardware and Software Engineers) to discuss system designs, interfaces and protocols to identify and implement solutions. - Integration of developed software on the target hardware with other system components and firmware. - Devising appropriate test procedures, both informal and informal, to prove the correct operation of software.
