To ensure the systematic provision of a specialist clinical / counselling psychology service across the MHLT service at Lister General Hospital (LGH) for the provision of psychological interventions for service users presenting with co-morbid mental health difficulties including complex medically unexplained symptoms (MUS) and severe and enduring mental health problems presenting to LGH To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists, psychological therapists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment, as well as providing assessment and therapy as required. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the MHLT To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
