About your team:
You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.
Centrica is seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, large-scale, or high-risk projects. This role involves developing key business and DTS relationships to ensure successful outcomes, leading a team in a matrix organization.
Location: Hybrid working with occasional travel to Windsor
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage projects with multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality requirements.
2. Develop project vision, business case, scope, budget, and plan.
3. Align projects with DTS and Business Unit strategy.
4. Establish effective project governance and resolve stakeholder issues.
5. Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
6. Optimize return on investment and consider alternatives.
7. Direct senior stakeholder communications and change management.
8. Oversee relationships with internal functions and third-party suppliers.
9. Ensure projects meet quality standards and governance requirements.
10. Plan and allocate resources effectively.
11. Lead, coach, and motivate the project team.
12. Conduct quality assurance and health check reviews.
Competencies:
13. Ability to create a compelling project vision and motivate teams.
14. Superior stakeholder management and engagement skills.
15. Strong planning, monitoring, and control techniques.
16. Knowledge of business case development and procurement processes.
17. Familiarity with program and project methodologies (e.g., MSP, Waterfall, Agile).
18. Strong problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.
Work Experience:
19. Proven experience in developing effective working relationships and handling ambiguity.
20. Experience within Utilities/Telco.
21. Governance, prioritization, project management, and assurance expertise.
22. Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
23. Familiarity with IT control frameworks and standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, CMMI, PRINCE).
24. Proven experience with SDLC in digital space
25. Mentor: Coach and support junior product team members, driving product excellence.
