About you
•Excellent IT skills & Audio typing skills
•Good communication skills
•Good interpersonal skills
•Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
•Excellent telephone manner and listening skills, dealing with enquiries, determining urgency, deciding/advising on course of action and taking messages
About the role
This is an exciting and varied role working within an established team based at Sue Ryder, St John’s Hospice. You will be a team player, friendly, approachable and used to a busy environment supporting our consultants and clinical team where necessary.
•To maintain and circulate consultant and doctor on call rotas. To action any rota changes and requests on PeopleHub under the supervision of the consultant
•Preparing and controlling documentation related to junior doctor rotation and medical student placements within the centre
•Using audio recordings and from written documents, undertake the typing of patient assessment pathways, death and discharge summaries, outpatient clinic letters, general correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, leaflets, handouts and PowerPoint presentations
•Maintenance of diaries for doctors and consultants and booking meeting/training rooms and travel
•Responding efficiently to enquiries to the service from patients, carers and professions. Dealing with telephone enquiries as appropriate and co-ordination of meetings and the taking of minutes
