About the role
We are seeking an experienced External Examiner to oversee and review the academic standards of our BA (Hons) Games Art and Design course at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). This role is essential in maintaining the quality, integrity, and relevance of our curriculum, assessments, and student experience.
As an External Examiner, you will:
1. Review and approve assessments to ensure alignment with academic standards.
2. Moderate student work and provide feedback on assessment practices.
3. Complete annual monitoring reports.
4. Visit the AUB campus to sample student work, engage with students, and provide insights into learning outcomes.
5. Attend examination boards online to contribute to academic quality discussions.
The University is looking for external examiners who:
1. Hold relevant academic or professional qualifications in Games Art and Design or a closely related field.
2. Have experience in learning and teaching, with a background in quality assurance and curriculum development.
3. Have prior experience as an External Examiner in games-related courses. Any experience of meaningful games would be an advantage.
4. Possess a strong professional and/or academic background in Games Art and Design.
5. Have the right to work in the UK.
