Job overview
We are currently seeking experienced Nursery Nurses with good clinical and communication skills to join the 0-19 Health Visiting service in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The post holder will join our forward-thinking, integrated workforce supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families living in Newcastle upon Tyne.
We are looking for motivated professionals who can work independently and as part of a skill-mixed team. You should have excellent knowledge of child development and experience of working with children in various settings, contributing to the assessment and monitoring of child development, offering family support and advice on parenting, and facilitating health promotion sessions.
Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving licence is essential.

The role of Community Nursery Nurse is vital to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in the Newcastle Hospitals 0-19 service.
You will work directly under the supervision of the Health Visiting Team but be expected to work autonomously and manage your own diary.
This role includes working with complex and vulnerable children and families; you will be expected to raise any concerns following local and national guidance and policy. Full safeguarding training will be given.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Required to work within a 0-19yrs Children’s Service, assisting in the delivery of a family-centred Public Health Service to a defined population.
* To participate in the development of health promotion initiatives which aim to improve the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
* To work under the direction of Health Visitor/Public Health School Nurse to contribute to the delivery of the service, delivering the Healthy Child Programme.
* To contribute to the assessment of need with children, young people, their families and communities.
* To participate in planning, implementing and evaluating interventions and support, contributing to health and wellbeing.
