Job title: Commissioning Project Lead-WTS (Electrical)
Location: Barrow in Furness- Onsite
Salary: From £45,628+ Dependent of skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
* Leading a team of Electrical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section
* Planning and supervising commissioning activities
* Overseeing Electrical Rip outs for the weapons section
* Reviewing and authoring test documentation in relation to the weapons test section
* Reviewing and planning training and development of electrical engineers within the section
* Deputising for the weapons Managers in their absence and act as temporary lead, covering all weapons section meetings
* Be a signing member of the weapons test group
* Liaising with other test departments to ensure safe control of work
Your skills and experiences:
* Good knowledge of either Sonar, Navigation, Command Systems or external communications systems from either commissioning or maintaining experience
* Good understanding of installations and final installation inspection process of weapons electrical systems
* Ideally experience of spice, SAP or P6
* Good understanding and experience of Safe Systems of Work
* Experience of reviewing electrical and weapons technical documentation and drawings
* Previous Team leader/Supervisory experience
* Ideally have a min of HNC in an Electrical Engineering subject

The Commissioning Engineering team:
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, technical control & development of personnel in consistently achieving the following; Departmental goals, Performance metrics expectations, Milestones in accordance with the Contract Delivery Programme. You will have an opportunity to lead & manage a team of Engineers within the Weapons Test Section, coordinating input of information to the team from all engineering functions. You will be working on advanced weapons equipment, requiring a high specialist focus.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to take the first step into line management and progress within the business.
