Lecturer in SEND (Maternity Cover)

A highly reputable Sixth Form college in Cambridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lecturer in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join the team on a maternity cover basis. Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and support for students with SEND.
2. Develop and implement effective strategies to meet individual learning needs.
3. Work closely with the SENDCo and wider support team to provide tailored interventions.
4. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
5. Collaborate with teaching staff to promote an inclusive learning environment.
6. Contribute to the college’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Person Specification:
Essential:
1. A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
2. Experience in teaching students with SEND in a post-16 or secondary education setting.
3. Strong knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. A proactive and student-focused approach to teaching and support.
Desirable:
1. A SEND-specific qualification or additional training.
2. Experience working within a Sixth Form or further education environment.
3. Familiarity with EHCPs and their implementation in an educational setting.
