Microwave Filter Design Engineer

Reporting to: Principal Filter Manager
Opportunity:
My client, a leader in RF and Microwave technology, is seeking a skilled Microwave Filter Design Engineer to join their team. You will work on a range of products from concept through to volume production, supporting telecommunications and defense sectors. With access to cutting-edge design tools, experienced engineers, and in-house RF/mmW manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and showcase your skills in designing new products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Full ownership of filter and sub-system design, including simulation, prototyping, and validation.
2. Contribute to R&D efforts for next-filter solutions.
3. Support the Sales team during the quotation phase, providing technical correspondence with customers.
4. Prepare and review design documentation (design logbooks, data packs, peer reviews).
5. Ensure that designs meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints, and are fully verified and documented.
6. Participate in and initiate design reviews to mitigate risk.
7. Conduct design verification and validation, including test specifications, reports, and reliability testing.
8. Maintain a comprehensive design compliance matrix.
9. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with manufactured products, developing diagnostic procedures.
Skills & Experience:
1. Relevant Degree (or equivalent), preferably in RF/Communications Engineering.
2. 5+ years of experience in Microwave Filter design, including tolerance/yield analysis and DFM.
3. Proficient in RF design tools such as Microwave Office and CST.
4. Hands-on experience tuning filters using VNA’s, conducting power handling and temperature tests.
5. Capable of achieving UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
