Job Advert We are looking for Support Workers to join our Service based in Darfield on a permanent, full time basis. As a Support Worker, flexibility is key both for yourself and for the service as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week/weekends including mornings, evenings and sleep ins. You will also be required to work bank holidays. About our Service In our services you will be supporting people with learning disabilities both male and female to live independent and active lives. The people we support have a wide range of support needs and interests, which will make your role varied and interesting. You will be actively involved in promoting and encouraging them to make everyday choices in everything they do. Through the night, this may include tasks such as supporting with night time routines, support with personal cares through the night, as well as pressure relief and monitoring. What does a Support Worker do? Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals. Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships. Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
