Would you like to be part of our friendly Vascular and Surgical Therapy Team at Kent & Canterbury Hospital working in the newly expanded Vascular Centre? You will have the opportunity to progress your skills by working within vascular and amputees as well as supporting across surgery, ITU and renal as required. Within vascular, the role will provide the chance to work across inpatients and outpatients and see patients through their whole pathway from preoperative assessment to follow-up classes in outpatients.
Band 6 Physiotherapists work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends, and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. Band 6 Physiotherapists are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy. Main duties include:
* To manage daily a specialist caseload within the services detailed above.
* To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team.
* To be actively involved with training within the Department. We are a friendly supportive team where regular meetings, CPD and supervision is available.
* To be responsible for appraisal and supervision of Band 3-5 staff within the team.
* To be an active clinical educator for students from a range of Universities.
* To be involved with clinical audit and service development within the team.
Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for patients. To be an integral part in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients in this clinical area.
To see both vascular inpatients and outpatients and cover across site as required to support the vascular service.
The development of integrated care programmes and discharge plan with the patient.
Line management (including clinical supervision) of staff (e.g. Band 5, therapy assistants and students).
Provide professional advice and leadership.
To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high-quality therapy intervention to patients.
Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis including patients with complex needs and multi-pathology.
Clinicians working at this level will be expected to evaluate their outcomes, review non-responding cases either with their peers or clinical specialists and refer on as appropriate using documented clinical reasoning.
