Early Years Practitioner
27 hours – worked term time only by banking toil each week to cover the holiday
Childcare Practitioner (L2 Early Years qualification): £22,086.75 FTE
Early Years Practitioner (L3 Early Years qualification): £23,341.68 FTE
An opportunity has arisen for a level 2 and level 3 Early years practitioner to join our team. We are a term time only nursery
close to the city centre, we have a dedicated team of staff working with a diverse range of children across our toddler,
pre-school and newly opened nurture room. If you are looking for an exciting job in a friendly team environment, where no day is
ever the same, we may be the team for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a real passion for
helping young children to thrive and learn through fun and creative play experiences. We appreciate how difficult it can be to
find the right work/life balance, so this job can be flexible by banking time during the week, meaning that you can work term time
only on all year round pay.
The role will include:
* Providing a stimulating, well-resourced and welcoming environment, both inside and outdoors, which supports children’s
all-round development and emotional well-being; and provides a range of experiences that develop children’s independence and
cooperation.
* Ensure positive engagement with parents, through the commitment to the key person system, encouraging parents to support and
share information about their children’s learning and development at home.
* Liaising with parents, carers, Children Centre staff and other agencies including Ofsted and all other bodies directly involved
with the welfare and well-being of the children and their families.
* Supporting the Children’s Centre in improving outcomes for children by working towards the children’s centre targets.
* Promoting the marketing of the nursery through advertising, open days and working with parents, carers and the Children’s
Centre Team and family Information Service.
To be successful in this role you will:
* Complete, and renew as needed, all mandatory training to include Food Safety L2,12 hour Paediatric first aid and manual
handling and any other training deemed relevant to the role.
* Maintain good hygiene standards, both personal and within the nursery in accordance with Godwin Health and Safety Department,
Nursery policies and Environmental Health.
* Have a secure knowledge and understanding of how to promote the learning and development of young children and what they can
achieve ensuring the quality of your teaching is consistently good.
* Attend training relevant to the role and to disseminate this to the rest of the team through taking the lead on staff meetings.
* Work as a reliable, enthusiastic and professional member of the nursery team across all Goodwin Children’s Centre and other
Goodwin sites and in the wider community especially when in uniform.
