Job Summary
Come and Join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, where we offer a wide variety of challenging and rewarding roles within a supportive, innovative and dynamic work environment!
We currently have vacancies for experienced Health Care Assistants to come and join our expanding team on the Belvoir, Griffin and Phoenix Wards which are Forensic and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) wards based at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit. The role of the HCA will be to work as part of the nursing team and you will support people through their recovery with both their physical health and their mental health needs.
We are looking for candidates who are experienced working with people who have mental health problems, incredibly compassionate, caring and confident when dealing with difficult situations. Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) are specialised wards that provide inpatient mental health care, assessment and comprehensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing the most acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder, where some individuals present with acute distress and maybe an absconding, suicide, or self-harm risk.
The health and wellbeing of our team members is very important to us and we offer a robust induction period, as well as regular supervision and support. You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
Main duties of the job
* Important information about these roles*
Please note that the Healthcare Support Workers work a rota system of Long Days (11.5 hr shifts) Day and Night covering a 7-day working week. These are predominately FULL TIME ROLES (37.5 hours per week) however if you would prefer a part time opportunity, we are happy to discuss. Please note that you will need eligibility to work in the UK for a minimum of 23 hours per week AND we do not offer sponsorship for HCA part time or full-time opportunities, therefore you will need to have a visa already allowing you to work these hours within the UK.
These HCA roles are permanent roles not bank roles and candidates will require their own right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
We ask that you demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to problem solve and negotiate and enforce boundaries. We believe our team can develop leadership qualities and if you can demonstrate yours, there will be opportunities to nurture and develop them. We offer a rewarding working environment which gives a sense of achievement as patients progress through their recovery.
The role offers variety, creativity, and a collaborative way of delivering the highest standards of care. To do this we are looking for individuals who, like us, believe our values of Trust, Respect, Integrity and Compassion are at the heart of patient care.
