Can you help us build a nation of global citizens who learn, collaborate, and act for peace, social, and climate justice? Join us in making a difference on the Welsh Centre for International Affairs trustee board.
As a trustee, you will:
1. Guide the WCIA’s future development, strategy, and governance—empowering our incredible staff to achieve their impact while ensuring strong oversight of financial, safeguarding, and operational aspects.
2. Connect regularly with trustees, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders — online, in hybrid settings, and in person at the Temple of Peace in Cardiff and other locations — to drive progress and uphold our values and goals.
3. Commit approximately 8 working days per year and attend at least 3 out of 4 board meetings per year (dates will be arranged 1 year in advance, and arrangements can be made to join remotely). Participate in an annual ‘away day’ and engage in activities with staff and volunteers.
4. Share your lived experience and expertise to create tangible, positive change.
5. Commit to serving a three-year term, during which you’ll become part of one of our sub-committees to focus on specific areas of the organisation’s work (Staffing, Governance, or Audit and Risk).
6. Receive and deliver training and champion aspects such as Equality and Inclusion, Safeguarding, Stakeholder engagement, Entrepreneurial and financial growth, or other areas of interest.
7. Volunteer your time, with in-Wales travel and other costs reimbursed as needed.
