Core Purpose of the role
* To promote positive attitudes towards regular school attendance on the part of pupils and their parents/carers.
* To improve levels of pupil and student attendance and engagement.
* To work closely with the Local Authority to fulfil its obligations under all relevant legislation.
* To apply effective intervention strategies to ensure high levels of attendance and punctuality of pupils within the school.
* Oversee the arrangement of alternative provision and/or home tuition and the attendance and wellbeing of pupils accessing alternative provision and/or home tuition.
* To ensure pupils’ safety and welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life and alternative provision where appropriate.
