Job Title: SEMH PE Teacher Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire Contract Type: Long-term role with potential to go permanent Leader Education is seeking a passionate and committed SEMH PE Teacher to join a specialist SEMH setting for students aged 11-16 in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is driven by the desire to support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs while delivering engaging and dynamic PE lessons. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 3 and 4. Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes students' physical, emotional, and social well-being. Develop differentiated lesson plans that cater to individual needs, ensuring progress is made in line with their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Collaborate with colleagues to implement strategies for academic and personal development, including behavior management techniques. Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes. Maintain a high standard of safeguarding and teaching practices. The Successful Candidate Will Have: Experience teaching PE, ideally in a specialist SEMH or SEND setting. A strong understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to support students with SEMH needs. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement effective behavior strategies. A passion for helping students achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
