We're currently raising our seed round, which we expect to close in the next few months, positioning us for rapid scaling in 2025.
Role Overview:
As Business Development Director, you'll own our entire sales function and play a crucial role in Markko's growth trajectory. You'll work directly with the founders to build and execute our sales strategy, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and exceed revenue targets through both outbound prospecting and inbound lead conversion
* Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through strategic prospecting and relationship development
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies and processes
* Create compelling proposals and lead commercial negotiations
* Collaborate with our product team to gather market feedback and inform our roadmap
* Use data-driven insights to optimise our sales approach and improve conversion rates
* Build and manage relationships with key strategic partners
* Eventually build and lead a high-performing sales team as we scale
Required Experience:
* Proven track record in B2B SaaS sales, ideally within e-commerce or marketplace sectors
* Experience with modern sales tools including Clay, Apollo, or similar prospecting platforms
* Demonstrated success in cold outreach and building sales pipelines from scratch
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to handle complex negotiations
* Experience selling to both technical and business stakeholders
* Knowledge of marketplace business models and e-commerce ecosystems
* Excellent presentation and communication skills
* Data-driven approach to sales strategy and execution
