Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Process Engineers, Environmental Consultants and Study Managers to join our growing Carbon Advisory Consulting Team based across the UK.
The Carbon Advisory Team sits across multiple sectors. The successful candidates will support clients in achieving their aims to reduce their carbon impact. This opportunity would be ideal for individuals with an engineering or environmental background, who are keen to continue and expand their career in a fast paced consulting environment. The Role
Due to significant growth plans for our consulting business, we are seeking to enhance our Carbon Advisory (CA) team with experienced individuals who are driven by solving complex technical challenges for our clients, that are key in achieving decarbonisation and tackling climate change.
Our CA team are industry leading experts in decarbonisation assessments across the energy and materials sectors including:
1. Emissions baselining and lifecycle carbon assessment
2. Decarbonisation opportunity assessments and road-mapping
3. Policy guidance and consulting
4. Climate risk and opportunity screening
We are seeking to speak with individuals that have a genuine drive to transform the world through providing technical advice to our clients on the above listed areas. The backgrounds of our consultants are varied so there is not one path. However, we typically seek consultants that have precious experience in Engineering focusing on decarbonisation or from an environmental or sustainable field of expertise.
The typical jobs roles that we are seeking to fill are; Carbon Advisory Team Lead, Subject Matter Expert Consultants and Principal/ Senior Carbon Advisory Consultants.
Whichever role you come into you will interface with a multi-disciplinary team of highly capable Subject Matter Experts, Consultants and Engineers to deliver best in class solutions that will ensure high customer satisfaction. 5. Emissions baselining and lifecycle carbon assessment inclusive of all aspects of Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.

10. Identifying, assessing, mitigating, and managing climate related physical and transitional risks and opportunities
11. Informing clients on and factoring into decision making current and future decarbonisation policies, product carbon intensity standards, carbon pricing and funding opportunities.

Expected:
22. Masters Degree in Process / Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental/ sustainable development related subject
23. A good understanding of carbon emissions quantification, decarbonisation techniques, circular carbon economy, energy transition
24. Strong analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
25. Excellent communications skills both verbally and written
26. Demonstrable high-quality report writing and presentation skills
27. Good organisational and project management skills
28. Keen to learn and to share learning with others
Desirable:
29. Demonstrated ability to lead multi discipline teams
30. Demonstrated proficiency in international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
31. A thorough understanding of the international policy and economic frameworks driving climate change agendas
32. Demonstrable background in decarbonisation studies and/or life cycle assessments
33. Experience in assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions
34. Experience in assisting clients to identify and screen emissions reduction opportunities
35. Chartered to an internationally recognised Professional body (or working towards)
36. Good negotiation skills
