Motor Transport Driver

The role
As a Motor Transport Driver you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will integrate over both RAF Cranwell and RAF Digby with MOD RAF, Foreign Forces on site and Babcock Other contracted civilians, working within the MT being a pivotal part to the smooth-running MT operations across both Sites.
Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
1. Loading/unloading and restraint of loads.
2. Driving passenger carrying vehicles with up to 53 passengers.
3. Ensure full and complete Daily inspections are carried out when tasked or required. Any faults found are to be reported promptly to MT Control personnel using the correct documentation.
4. During snow and ice season, employees may be requested to work extended hours and operate the snow and ice vehicles.
5. Complete when required Airfield Sweeping duties in line with the RAF Cranwell Sweeping plan.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Cranwell and RAF Digby, near Lincolnshire. You'll work an average of 39 hours a week on a shift basis, however you'll need to be flexible as there may be changes to the roster from time to time, to meet customer needs.
Essential experience of the Motor Transport Driver:
1. Familiar with Vehicle inspections.
2. Previous driving experience in Mechanical Transport and Logistics environment.
3. Experience with Driving hours and Tachographs.
4. Some form of previous leadership experience (can be non-work related).
Qualifications for the Motor Transport Driver:
1. Must be able to pass a colour perception test.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
