Position Summary:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Immunology Rheumatology is seeking a Data Scientist Associate. This position will provide essential support of the day-to-day analytic activities to the division by:
1. Guiding real-world evidence study design,
2. Overseeing and conducting data analysis,
3. Producing new approaches to address study objectives,
4. Interpreting results for dissemination and producing scientific reports,
5. Generating algorithms and models for novel data assessment.
In addition, this position will perform data input, evaluate study proposals, and create standard operating procedures for the analytic team.
This position will also perform other duties as needed to support the rheumatology team. While this work requires an analytic background, there will be opportunities for further training and advancement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analytic design, analysis, and result interpretation
* Scientific writing and result dissemination
* Predictive model generations
* Study proposal design
* Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $77,640 - $126,170
Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field OR Bachelor's degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred criteria for candidates:
* Master's degree (e.g. MS, MPH) in a related field (e.g. biostatistics, data science, public health) and 2 years of related experience.
