JOB TITLE: Security Officer LOCATION: London Energy Ltd, Wembley, NW10 0UX REPORTING TO: Contract Operations Manager / Site supervisors SHIFT PATTERN: Weekend Days: Saturdays: 1130 – 2300, Sundays: 1100 – 2300, Nights: Saturdays: 2300 – 1100 Sundays: 2300 – 0700, Other shifts will be required as and when needed: Monday – Friday, 0700 – 1500, 1500 – 2300 and 2300 – 0700. Hours: Minimum Part time 20-24 hours per week PAY RATE: £13.15 per hour (Pending pay increase in April 2025) ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE • This important role is the public face of the Security Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site. • This role will require you to cover various shifts both days and nights. • The client is an Energy and Waste services provider, waste depots and recycling centres. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Readily interact with all visitors to the site, delivering first class customer focused services • Carry out regular patrols of the site as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive. • Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors and clients proactively helping wherever opportunities arise. • Safeguard the site so that it is a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors. • Ensuring all incidents are managed by site policies and procedures. • Liaising with the LEL control room proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported. • Ensure any unsecure areas of the site are reported to the Control Room immediately and action is taken to resolve them. • Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives. • Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies ensuring the site team is kept fully always informed. • Intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies. • Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals. • Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to. • Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Security Officer notebook correctly and notebook policies are always adhered to. • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business. • Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager. • Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events. • Complete all training requirements as requested by the line manager. • Be available to cover additional shifts as required to cover absence/annual leave. • Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team delivering one service and highlighting opportunities in working as one team. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • SIA Licensed DS or SG required. • SIA CCTV license desirable. • First Aid certificate desirable. • Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful always whilst carrying out duties to the highest standard. • One team approach • Take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary. • To always stay motivated aim high and achieve. • To respect all staff and visitors within the site. • Excellent communication skills.
