About the Science Department: The Science department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for fostering a love of science in our students. About the Role: Teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including interactive whiteboards, technology, and manipulatives, to bring Biology to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Biology curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Biology in students, encouraging them to explore the beauty and power of biology in the world around them. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in relevant professional development opportunities. Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as science clubs and competitions. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Biology. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Biology and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and colleagues. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Biology and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
