Main duties of the job
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement. The Trust Lead for Advanced Care Practice will be responsible for the Trust-wide development and leadership of Advanced Practitioners (AP) working in various roles. They will provide clinical leadership and support for the Advanced Care Practice within Allied Health Practitioners (AHP), nursing and midwifery teams. The post holder will work as a senior leader within the Trust and will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced practice education and roles across the Trust.
The post holder will practice as a senior expert clinician, Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP), working independently and autonomously with undifferentiated patients. Focus is on the provision of responsive, compassionate, visible leadership for all areas across the Trust with advanced practitioners. Acts as a strong patient advocate ensuring that a culture of continuous improvement and learning is supported to drive quality care delivery across the Trust.

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will:
* Lead on the design, delivery and implementation of the Advanced Practice strategy and workforce plan for the CNO.
* Work independently at a senior ACP level in the direct delivery of high-quality care within their own specialist field.
* Develop and actively manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrate the attributes of a clinical expert in terms of specialist theoretical and practical knowledge.
* Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues.
* Take lead responsibility for the development of a Trust Advanced Practice Strategy.
* Develop the AP long-term workforce plan in partnership with stakeholders.
* Provide professional leadership, governance and expertise relating to Advanced Practice throughout the Trust.

Qualifications
* Clinical Professional Registration
* Master's level in Advanced Care Practice
* Non-medical Prescriber
* Teaching and Assessing practice
* Evidence of formal management/leadership training
* Postgraduate research
Personal Qualities
* Ability to network both internally and externally
* Ability to chair meetings
Experience and Knowledge
* Registered with the NMC or HCPC with evidence of personal and professional commitment to CPD.
* Evidence of working at a senior level leading change initiatives.
* Extensive experience of teaching and training in medical, nursing, AHP or midwifery.
* Active involvement in audit and research.
* A proven track record at a senior level in an acute hospital environment.
* Experience of recruitment and retention issues, workforce planning and capacity management.
* Evidence of having managed and developed a team effectively.
* Ability to confront complex and challenging issues with a problem-solving approach.
* Experience of working strategically locally, regionally or nationally.
