Job summary
To provide an efficient and high-quality administrative assistance to support the clinical research lead and support generalpractice with the administration of research projects. The post holder will workclosely alongside the clinical research lead and assist practices that sign upto the service.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for providing support to the clinical and non-clinicaldelivery teams in organising, attending, and documenting meetings or trainingevents relevant to the start-up, conduct or closure of studies.
Arrange, attend, and record minutes for specialty research meetings andother relevant departmental meetings.
Assist in the collation of relevant documents ( CVs and GCPcertificates) required for study start up activities, preparing Site Files forSite Initiation
Carry out general administrative duties such as photocopying, sendingand receiving emails, opening and distribution of post and sending out ofcorrespondence where necessary.
Assist in the maintenance of Site Files, ensuring these are kept tidy, updatedand inspection ready.
Toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with internal andexternal stakeholders to assist with the conduct of research studies
To provide administration support to practices who are undertakingresearch.
Any other adhoc duties as directed by the manager.

EastLancashire Alliance (ELA) is a not-for-profit community interest companyproviding services to our GP practice members and offering a portfolio ofpatient services. All our clinical services are led by clinical leads who workas part of a team with Federation managers.
We are a network of nine PCNs which consist of 48GP practices covering a population of over 390,000 patients across EastLancashire. The post holder will lead and overseeall key stakeholder communication and engagement as part of the transformation plan for ELA. They will providecommunications, marketing communications and media, reputation management advice tothe ELA board.

Professional and Personal Development

Once performance / training objectives have been set,the staff members progress will be reviewed on a regular basis, so that newobjectives can be agreed and set, in order to maintain progress in the servicedelivery
Thepost holder will be expected to take responsibility for their own professionaldevelopment and will be supported by the ELA to achieve developmentopportunities as appropriate.
Confidentiality & Information Governance
Confidentiality is of prime importance. In thenormal course of duties, the post holder will have access to confidentialdocuments and information relating to patients, service users, staff, andcontractors, as well as information of a commercially sensitive nature. Suchinformation should not be communicated to anyone outside or inside the NHSunless done in the normal course of carrying out the duties of the post.Disciplinary action will be considered where a breach of confidence has beenestablished
All information obtained or held during thepost-holders period of employment that relates to the business of the ELA andits service users and employees will remain the property of the ELA.Information may be subject to disclosure under legislation at the ELAsdiscretion and in line with national rules on exemption
The post holder must maintain high standards ofquality in record keeping ensuring information is always recorded accurately,appropriately and kept up to date. The post holder must only accessinformation, whether paper, electronic or in other media, which is authorisedto them as part of their duties
The post holder must ensure compliance with theData Protection Act 2018.
Health & Safety at Work
The post holder is required to take reasonablecare of the health and safety of themselvesand other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with the ELA inadhering to statutory and departmental safety regulations.
Thepost holder is responsible for ensuring that they do not intentionally or recklessly misuse or interfere withanything provided in the interests of healthsafety or welfare, misuse of equipment
