Aboutthe Team
The Infrastructure,Labour Markets and Migration team is a friendly team of around 15policy advisers and economists which sits at the heart of theTreasury’s economics ministryfunction.
· Weset the government’s overarching strategy for infrastructure bysetting spending priorities, supporting more investment, andfacilitating improved delivery.
· We lead onthe development of key institutions such as the NationalInfrastructure and Service TransformationAuthority.
· Welead for HMT on key growth-focused policy areas including thegovernment’s employment and migration policy.
The team as a whole, have a friendly, supportiveand collaborative culture, with a strong commitment to wellbeingand professional development. We are multi-site across London andDarlington.
Aboutthe Job
In this role, youwill:
· LeadHMT on infrastructure policy – working closely withDepartments and internal HMT teams, support the work to improve thestrategy, co-ordination and delivery of major infrastructureprojects. Lead on the delivery of the 10 Year InfrastructureStrategy across HMTreasury.
· Overseewider infrastructure policy, including assessment ofneeds – there are significant barriers which impactsuccessful delivery of infrastructure strategy and delivery. Workcollaboratively across teams to advise on future economicinfrastructure requirements. And work flexibility to lead specificprojects as demandarises.
· Buildand manage relationships with a diverse range ofstakeholders – including with teams across HMT,other government departments, key industry stakeholders such as theConstruction Leadership Council, and supporting senior HMT staffand ministers on infrastructure delivery issues. This role willalso support on the strategic direction of the NationalInfrastructure and Service TransformationAuthority.
· Developexpertise in infrastructure delivery policy –including on the construction sector and how the UK comparesinternationally, key issues across the planning system as well aswider infrastructure sectors and deliveryissues.
· Leadthe Infrastructure Strategy Unit, - including linemanagement of currently 1 x SEO and 1 xHEO.
