We are delighted to offer this rare opportunity for a Sales Estimator to join our client's team supporting the function of the commercial division. This is a permanent, office-based role working Monday-Thursday 08:00 am-05:00 pm and 08:00 am-02:30 pm on Fridays.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing project quotations in response to enquiries from customers and converting those quotations to orders.
Part of the Customer Experience Team, they will work closely with the Account Coordinator and Project Scheduler to control the commercial aspects of projects from initial estimate to remeasure.
This role will also involve collaborating with New Business, Customer Experience, and Purchasing colleagues internally, as well as new and existing customers and suppliers externally.
Duties of the role include:
1. Qualify customer enquiry against CCN criteria to ascertain whether to proceed to quotation stage.
2. Interpret specification documents and drawings supplied by the customer to identify any gaps in information necessary to create a quotation.
3. Assess and measure project specifications received to determine the scope of work required.
4. Conduct a technical review of the scope to ensure compatibility with CCN solutions, working practices, and certification.
5. Highlight any non-standard design requests (NSDR's) to ensure practicality.
6. Liaise with customers to fill in any gaps in information and upsell products and services where appropriate.
7. Produce accurate quotations, using the internal scheduling system and liaising with Purchasing and/or our external supply chain.
8. Provide customers with detailed, competitive, and technically qualified quotations and gather feedback.
9. Coordinate the internal, face-to-face handover meeting with the Project Scheduler.
10. Introduce the Project Scheduler to the customer via face-to-face/Teams meeting and coordinate the handover from Sales Estimator stage to Project Scheduler stage.
11. Produce and reissue revised quotations where necessary.
12. Actively participate in pre-contract meetings and positively engage in the design approval process.
13. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
14. Retain, upload, and file all documents related to projects in the prescribed central locations.
15. Regularly review quotation submission quality and output quantity with the Commercial Director.
16. Conduct customer, competitor, and market research to stay informed of industry trends.
17. Contribute to product and system developments and improvements.
18. Undertake additional duties as requested by the Commercial Director.
