Post-Mortem Technician
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic role as part of the high disease containment post-mortem team within the Pathology and Animal Sciences Department at APHA Weybridge, Surrey, UK.
You will be underpinning the crucial work of a dedicated agency that is tackling disease and ensuring the health of animals throughout the UK by providing support for the ante and post-mortem examination of large animals and poultry through the sampling, and humane euthanasia of livestock using appropriate methods.
Your Responsibilities:
* Assist with the location/sampling of tissues as required by experimental protocols.
* Safe transfer and submission of samples from the post-mortem room to the relevant laboratory facilities, following Good Laboratory Practices.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills, as well as being a good communicator, team player, motivated individual who can use common software applications and possess a BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science.
