The purpose of the Managing Director post is to develop and embed the Collaborative's strategic direction, governance, transformation, and organisational development programme, operational and financial performance.
This pivotal role is responsible for driving development and growth while enabling and establishing a positive 'can do' attitude and culture across the Collaborative's stakeholders to support transformation and quality improvement initiatives for the benefit of patients and staff.
The Managing Director will recruit and lead a commissioning and transformation team that aims to deliver significant benefits for patients including:
* Care closer to home
* More consistent and high quality care through standardising our approaches
* Greater influence from patients on the design of care at both service and individual level
* More 'joined up' care with close working between NHS providers and private sector partners
Main duties of the job
The Managing Director will work in partnership with lead Clinical Directors on a day to day basis to consolidate and ensure the effective operation of new care models, and help develop new partnerships, pathways and service models.
The Managing Director will:
* report to the Lead CEO of the East of England Provider Collaborative
* lead the day to day management of the collaborative within the East of England
* interface with all East of England providers and commissioners including ICBs and local authorities
* ensure that there is constant and visible leadership and ensure delivery of its performance, financial and governance requirements.

* Represent the collaborative at regional and local levels including CCG, Local Authority, Health and Wellbeing boards, and other appropriate meetings as required.
* Ensure the collaborative delivers quality, operational, financial and workforce performance against agreed plans and hold team members to account for the delivery of their plans.
* Regularly review Quality and Safety, Governance and Risk, Operational Performance and other key performance indicators at service level to ensure all areas are monitored to agreed standards and better.
* To assure all reporting is accurate and timely and information is issued regularly and properly to enable continued learning and improvement for patient outcomes.
* Take opportunities to review performance and triangulate information produced through visits to operational areas, observing behaviours, and undertaking honest, supportive and open discussions with staff.
* Review performance at service level to ensure consistent and excellent performance happens, and where there are performance gaps or failures, lead, support and direct service teams to undertake remedial action required in a timely manner.
* Seek, share and drive opportunities across the service, which improve service delivery and performance to the highest level possible thus contributing to the overall success of the Trust.
* With and informed by Clinical Directors, and other senior leaders seek opportunities to challenge and improve practice in all areas including clinical quality, patient experience, operational effectiveness and put remedial actions in place to ensure and evidence improvement, demonstrating that quality and safety are of the utmost priority in the daily operation of the hospital site.
* Forge and cultivate highly effective relationships and strong partnership with Clinicians.
* Responsible for establishing effective governance across the collaborative and that the robust arrangements are in place and that the collaborative remains fit for purpose.
* As the Responsible Director for the Collaboratives services, establish effective relationships and assurance systems with key regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with CQC registration requirements and wider patient safety agenda, for example, NHS England, CCGs and the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA).
