Welfare Auditor (Animal/Aquaculture), UK (Independent Contractor)
Job Description
We are looking for Animal or Aquaculture Welfare Auditors to join our team of contractors in the UK. This role would be ideal for those living near an airport and willing to travel across the UK, Europe, and eventually, the globe.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct on-site assessments
2. Summarize and evaluate audit findings, and submit reports in a timely manner
3. Communicate findings and results of audits with client site management or appropriate client representatives
4. Develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits within a determined timeframe
5. Establish and maintain effective communication with key team members, including audit delivery and client teams
Qualifications
1. At least five years' experience in agriculture/aquaculture roles and knowledge of animal welfare throughout the supply chain
2. An HND or degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture, or related discipline
3. An ISO lead assessor qualification, HACCP qualification, and Poultry/Animal Welfare Officer qualifications
4. Knowledge of farms assurance schemes and animal welfare legislation
5. The ability to communicate with and engage with the farming community and colleagues in a confident and patient manner
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
7. Enthusiasm, energy, a keen eye for detail, and a passion to improve standards
8. Ability to manage conflict and difficult situations
9. Ability to manage own time and meet strict deadlines
10. A flexible approach
11. Respect for individual and Company confidentiality rights
12. Full UK driving license
13. Willingness and ability to travel
14. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
15. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
