Job Description
Working as part of a professional and dedicated team, the receptionist is responsible for creating a seamless, welcoming experience that aligns with both ISS and the client’s values. This involves a high level of professionalism in appearance, presentation, and manner to leave a positive and lasting impression on all clients and visitors.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring the smooth operation of reception and common areas, maintaining the highest standards of service and operational efficiency. While the client’s stakeholders have transitioned away from visibly stationed security guards, the receptionist will integrate site security discreetly, ensuring safety and peace of mind without compromising the polished, stakeholder-centric atmosphere.
This refined approach underscores the importance of maintaining a professional yet understated security presence that supports the overall experience. By representing the values of both ISS and the client’s parent company, the receptionist is a key contributor to creating an elite workplace environment that prioritises refinement, stakeholder satisfaction, and a proactive approach to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as first point of contact on reception for clients and visitors, providing a professional and friendly service as well as delivering an exceptional first impression.
* Demonstrate a true passion for customer service by pro-actively seeking ways to surprise and delight our clients and guests, always going above and beyond following the “yes we-can” ethos.
* Provide the image and service representative of a 5-star business through smiling, professionally greeting clients and visitors, communicating clearly and effectively, taking pride in the reception area, and enjoying a professional business environment.
* Work as part of a team to deliver great service.
* Provide a warm welcome, build friendly, professional relationships with all colleagues and clients.
* Keep reception area clean, tidy, and free from clutter and personal belongings to maintain a professional image.
* Promote a professional, pro-active, and positive image to the reception team always, act as an ambassador.
* Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to working patterns and systems to maintain site standards.
* Deal with and resolve client and visitor enquiries.
* Book services required for the functions/events i.e., set up, equipment, maintenance, hospitality etc.
* Be aware of Health and Safety responsibilities and assist with ensuring a safe working environment.
* Ensure safe working practices through Health & Safety standards.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Steady employment record to date.
* Previous Front of House experience in a corporate or hotel reception role.
* Ability to display a real passion for customer service and going the extra mile.
* Call handling / telephone answering in a switchboard / reception environment.
* Experience of working within a demanding fast paced environment.
* Ability to analyse complex problems and identify potential solutions by exploring alternatives, including where applicable risks and potential business impact.
* Ability to understand and anticipate the consequences of your decisions for other departments/people in short/long term.
* Has recently completed SIA Door supervisor training and holds a SIA license.
* Good educational background.
* Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
