The hydrotherapy service provides rehabilitation to outpatients and prides itself in providing excellent patient care. The AHP support worker role provides support and assistance to the patients using the hydrotherapy service and the physiotherapists working in the area. The role requires excellent communication skills and use of the Oasis appointment booking system to arrange patient appointments via the telephone and also in person. You will be required to provide support to patients with some aspects of personal care so should have experience of delivering patient care and undertaking manual handling. You would be required to take part in emergency evacuation procedure from the pool if/when it occurs under the direction of the physiotherapist. You will lead on maintaining safety in the pool area by undertaking housekeeping tasks to ensure the environment is safe and meets infection control standards. The postholder will be expected to manage clean and dirty laundry, cleaning and storing returned equipment, cleaning specialist therapy equipment, maintaining stocks of therapy supplies and completing the relevant cleaning audit.
