We are seeking to appoint qualified social workers across our Children’s Services teams, with relative experience for the post. We are looking for individuals who are able to display and promote positive practice whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for protecting children and young people across the city.

A fantastic permanent opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Duty Social Work Team. The post holder will be a qualified and experienced Social Worker, have possession of a recognised Social Work qualification plus existing AMPH status and Social Work England registration.
The role requires a commitment to lone working on an out of hours rota basis for which a 20% pay enhancement is included in salary.
You must be able to coordinate and carry out assessments and implement statutory duties under the following acts: Mental Health Act 2003, Children Act 2004, National Assistance Act 1948, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Carers Recognition Act 1995, Disability Act, Human Rights Act, Care Standards Act 2000, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
The team operates on a duty rota system which covers out of working hours. Working pattern starts at 4:30pm until 9am 7 days per week and Saturday and Sunday work pattern is 8:30am until 5 pm.
The team is supported by an on-call service manager every night and access to a sessional pool of staff as agreed by the service manager when the situation arises.
You must have experience of working with Adults/children and/or complex safeguarding with associated risk factors and deliver immediate solutions sometimes under pressure and have AMHP status.
