About the role
Connex Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for an immediate start, providing one-to-one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Year 2 class at a primary school in Pinxton. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide dedicated support and make a positive impact on a child's educational journey.
Assignment Details
This is a full-time position with an immediate start required. The successful candidate will work during school hours, providing consistent one-to-one support to help the pupil access the Year 2 curriculum and develop their learning skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering personalized one-to-one support throughout the school day
* Supporting the pupil's learning and development across all curriculum areas
* Implementing specific SEND strategies and interventions
* Collaborating with the class teacher to adapt learning materials
* Supporting the pupil's social interaction and integration within the class
* Maintaining detailed records of progress and interventions
* Contributing to review meetings and support plans
Person Specification
We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant who can start immediately and who demonstrates:
* Experience supporting children with special educational needs
* A patient and nurturing approach
* Strong behavior management skills
* The ability to build trust with both pupils and staff
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility in adapting to the pupil's daily needs
While specific qualifications are not required as we provide full training through Connex Academy, previous SEND experience is highly desirable for this immediate start position.
