Environmental Advisor at CELSA UK supports operational units with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) compliance and permit requirements. Ensures EMS are maintained and managed across sites in Cardiff and UK scrap yards.
Main tasks include ensuring specific areas remain compliant and certified to ISO14001, collating and analysing environmental data, escalating concerns to the Environment Manager, and supporting investigations into permit breaches and environmental incidents.
Key responsibilities include leading environmental compliance meetings, challenging and supporting operational areas to deliver environmental actions, coaching teams on EMS and Environmental Permit Regulations, and delivering environmental training and awareness to employees.
External stakeholder engagement, planning and scheduling of contracted environmental site work, undertaking site audits, and writing, reviewing and updating procedures are also key responsibilities.
The Environmental Advisor must have good knowledge of ISO14001 Management System, experience in relevant industrial industry, and be a practitioner member of IEMA. Self-motivated and able to challenge and set a sense of urgency when required, with the ability to demonstrate CELSA's values.
