Job Description
The opportunity to deliver a key role within Glasgow City Council’s Property and Consulting Services department. This post will carry out on site electrical clerks of works duties for various projects around Glasgow and report to the Assistant Group Manager. Specific roles will include: To monitor, record and report the progress of electrical services contractors working on site as part of the council investment programme. • Obtain a thorough understanding of the contract through a detailed review of the drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other related documents. • Monitor the quality of work as it progresses to ensure that it complies with the drawings/specification and good industry practice. • Issue remedial work notices immediately to the electrical services contractors should materials or workmanship fall below the required standard and bring such matters to the attention of the Electrical Engineer/Contract Administrator. • Review the electrical services contractors weekly and other short-term programmes and advise the Electrical Engineer/Contract Administrator of findings. • Witness and record all tests and commissioning activities/results required by the specification, public utilities or statutory authorities. • Support the design team and carry out surveys of existing buildings services and carry out small scale design.
