The Process Safety team forms part of our RPS Risk major accident hazard safety team of over 50 staff, providing safety advice to clients in a range of high risk and highly regulated industries.
We are looking for a Senior Process Safety Consultant to lead the delivery of safety projects in a range of high-risk industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, clean energy, nuclear, built environment and manufacturing.

What you’ll be doing
· Leading the delivery of safety projects in a range of high risk industries, ensuring they are completed on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
· Leading hazard study workshops including: HAZOP/HAZID/ALARP/LOPA/FMEA.
· Leading delivery of COMAH Safety Reports and conducting formal safety assessments such as quantitative risk assessments and occupied building risk assessments.
· Leading the development of Process Safety Management Systems
· Leading on consequence and risk modelling.
· Leading on functional safety/ machinery safety project scopes.
· Providing technical guidance and mentoring for more junior team members.
· Managing teams of consultants to support project delivery.
· Recognising opportunities for business and service development.
· Supporting in business and service development to help grow the business.
· Maintaining and developing lasting relationships and frameworks with clients.
Who we’re looking for:
· Highly skilled in process safety techniques, e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, ALARP, CBA, OBRA, CFD, LOPA, COMAH safety.
· Self-motivated team player with good people and leadership skills.
· Excellent customer service manner with strong listening and interpersonal skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent technical report writing skills.
· In depth knowledge of relevant UK regulations and standards and be able to apply them.
· Knowledge of other regulatory regimes
· A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Chartered Engineer
The nature of the work we undertake means that the role may require you to undergo security clearance.

The selection process is likely to be a two-stage competency and behavioural interview. Each stage may be undertaken via MS Teams or in an RPS office
