About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates to gain paid, hands-on experience in the education sector while supporting students in a classroom environment. Whether you choose to work as a Cover Supervisor, assisting in the management of a class, a Teaching Assistant (TA), providing tailored support to pupils, or an Instructor, delivering subject-specific lessons, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and gaining practical teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities will include to:
* Assist in delivering engaging and structured lessons to secondary school students.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support, assisting pupils in their learning.
* Follow lesson plans provided by the school to maintain continuity in education.
* Encourage students’ academic progress, fostering a passion for learning.
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure students receive high-quality education.
The successful candidate will:
* A bachelor’s degree in any subject area.
* A keen interest in education and supporting young people.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students of varying abilities.
* Adaptability and resilience, with a proactive approach to classroom challenges.
* Prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is desirable but not essential.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
