Plumbing & Heating Engineer Lecturer

Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality education and training in plumbing and heating engineering, equipping learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching and Assessment:
1. Participate in the recruitment, enrolment, and induction processes for new students.
2. Deliver engaging and effective teaching in various formats, including classroom instruction, practical workshops, and online learning.
3. Develop comprehensive schemes of learning, lesson plans, and assessment materials specific to plumbing and heating engineering.
4. Conduct ongoing assessments and provide timely feedback to students, ensuring clarity on their progress and areas for development.
5. Offer tailored support to individual students, referring them to additional resources or services as required.
6. Contribute to the enrichment of the student experience through involvement in relevant extracurricular activities and events.
7. Maintain a safe, effective, and professional learning environment that fosters student engagement and growth.
8. Ensure that teaching materials and resources reflect current industry standards and best practices, positively impacting retention and success rates.
9. Engage in quality assurance processes to uphold educational standards and improve the quality of provision.
10. Prepare students for a range of qualifications and assessments relevant to plumbing and heating engineering.
11. Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including reports and references.
12. Set and monitor personal targets and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in accordance with faculty and college policies.
13. Participate in open days, recruitment events, and other promotional activities to promote the plumbing and heating engineering programme.
14. Assist in the development and enhancement of related programmes.
Additional Duties:
1. Promote an inclusive teaching and learning environment that encourages diversity and individuality among students and staff.
2. Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
3. Uphold and embody the college’s values and mission in all professional duties and responsibilities.

1. Undertake further training and development as identified in the college review procedures.

8. Perform other reasonable duties as required and review this job description annually in collaboration with your Line Manager.
