Job Details We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join our Geology team T he successful candidate must have good leadership, communication and problem-solving skills and be able to contribute to projects using a range of techniques and processes relating to seismic interpretation. You must also understand other Geoscience disciplines to enable independent and accurate generation and interpretation of data, and preparation of professional reports. Projects will primarily utilise seismic and well datasets, in-house geological and data products, plus associated petroleum system data. You will possess drive and enthusiasm, being an integral part of a dynamic team within an innovative company. You will need to be a challenge-seeker, problem-solver, and people person who’s invested in collaborating to shape the future direction of the team and Viridien. Key Responsibilities Undertake, manage, and deliver technically excellent project work in line with corporate standards and industry best practices. Provide technical scope and deliverables for proposal generation. Offer technical advice for multi-client product generation. Collaborate in the in-house Peer Review Process. Coach, train, develop, and mentor peers and junior staff. Contribute to business development activities. Develop G&G workflows and internal software applications, especially those relevant to seismic interpretation and reservoir characterisation (QI). Play a role in integrating discipline expertise. Lead the innovation of new and existing products and services, particularly in applying ML and AI techniques to surface imaging, seismic interpretation, and QI. Proactively stay informed on technological advances and industry trends that influence future projects, new research opportunities, or technological ventures. Actively participate in the publication and presentation of articles, while supporting others to do the same. Key Skills and Experiences A BSc degree in Geology Geophysics or Geoscience, but with an additional MSc or PhD in a Geoscience discipline Advanced technical knowledge, competence and scientific excellence including report-writing and presentation delivery Significant experience in an E&P Operating company and/or Geoscience consultancy Integrated Project Management experience Fluency in English is required, while other language skills are an advantage Skills in Petrel, Kingdom, Landmark and/or other industry software is an advantage Person Spec Essential: Strong leadership and creative problem-solving skills – this will include mentoring, coaching and R&D. An ability to lead more junior staff with this vision will be important A customer service mindset and excellent communication skills – the successful candidate will likely be a key ‘link’ between different teams and will therefore need to maintain excellent, open channels via different media and be able to understand the technical level of communication required for any given audience Strong technical skills, to cover the following: Strong seismic interpretation skills, from regional- to field-scale A thorough understanding of integrating subsurface data Ability to provide technical- or peer-reviews of seismic and/or subsurface geological reports Project management: ability to keep a project on track and deliver excellence Flourishes within and fosters a collaborative working environment Desirable: Experience working alongside, or within, seismic data processing teams Experience with digital transformation of geological datasets and project database management Experience providing both internal and external training programmes Project management experience, ideally including integrated studies Willingness to travel when required for business Why work with us?
