The Senior Business Development Manager in Strategic Sales will support our growth in ICP and 33KV+ connections. With a proven track record of upgrading assets on the distribution network, we anticipate massive growth as we apply our expertise and experience to the private client market. We are looking for a transformative leader who combines passion with prospecting skills to build strategic relationships with clients.
This role will be accountable for ensuring that our sales revenue target for Major Projects (33KV+) and ICP (11KV) are met. It will require a strategic approach to identify new market opportunities and target clients.
Polished line management skills are also critical to ensure Rock's established BD team collectively and individually hit targets. The role requires monthly reporting on Rock's business plan measures and provide a quarterly update to Board on secured and forecasted revenue and margin. Experience in commercial and contractual negotiations is necessary to facilitate the communication between Mitie's and the clients respective legal teams to secure contracts.
The role will have an individual target and expectation of managing clients to secure orders. The Senior BD – Strategic Sales is a client-facing role, liaising with strategic clients and the post holder will work with many internal and external stakeholders to develop designs, installation programmes and commercial models which are reflective, accurate and mitigate operational and commercial risk.
It will be critical to build a close working relationship with the Project Manager and delivery team for the respective contracts to ensure a seamless client experience. Priding ourselves upon excellent customer satisfaction, this role also includes engaging in face to face and virtual meetings with clients.
Key responsibilities:
* Accountability for the ICP (11KV) and Major Projects (33KV+) sales revenue and margin targets.
* Undertake monthly reporting on Rock's OGSP measures and provide a quarterly update to Board on secured and forecasted revenue and margin.
* Identify new market opportunities and target clients.
* Develop a marketing and prospecting plan and work with colleagues to execute it.
* Ensure the team collectively and individually hit targets.
* Line management of Business Development team members.
* Work through commercial and contractual negotiations to the signed contract stage.
* The role will have an individual target and expectation of managing clients to secure orders.
* Build and develop strategic relationships with both existing and potential clients, ensuring that Rock Power Connections is in a strong position to gain future business opportunities.
* Build and develop strategic relationships with external stakeholders such as IDNOs, DNOs and Suppliers.
* Work with design and commercial colleagues to ensure that a competitive proposal is prepared and submitted within agreed timeframes.
About you:
* Driven and transformational leader, with a proven track record of achieving sales revenue targets within an ICP environment.
* Solution-focused, enjoys empowerment to drive innovation, process improvements and new ideas from inception to delivery.
* Excellent communication, confident and credible presenting to senior level in clients.
* 3yrs senior sales experience in construction / engineering + proven network of industry contacts
* Easily builds a network of internal colleagues and builds commercially-sound, risk free proposals based on collective input from delivery and operational team
* Experience of commercial and contractual negotiation
